Therapy for Grief
Life & time keep moving forward even when a part of you feels like it stopped.
Grief can change the way you experience your relationships, your routines, your identity, and even your sense of what the future is supposed to look like. Some days, the loss may feel overwhelming. Other days, you may feel numb, distracted, angry, or almost like yourself again—only to have the grief return unexpectedly. You may also feel pressure from others, or from yourself, to be “doing better” by now.
Therapy for grief offers a space where you don't have to rush your healing, minimize your loss, or pretend you're okay.
Grief therapy isn't about helping you forget the person or experience you've lost. It also isn't about forcing you to “find closure” or move on before you're ready. Instead, therapy provides space to process your loss, understand the emotions surrounding it, and gradually learn how to carry your grief while continuing to live your life.
Together, we may explore difficult emotions, memories, changes in identity, relationship dynamics, unresolved feelings, and the ways your loss has affected how you experience yourself and the world.

Grief doesn't have a timeline, and neither does healing.
Mind Embody Psychotherapy provides virtual individual therapy to adults throughout New York who are navigating grief, bereavement, significant loss, and difficult life transitions. Together, we can make space for the emotions that accompany loss, explore how grief has affected your sense of self and relationships, and help you find ways to reconnect with your life without feeling as though you have to leave what you’ve lost behind.
Our Approach
We Make Space for the Grief
Grief doesn’t need to be rushed, fixed, or pushed aside. We create space to explore the emotions that come with loss—including sadness, anger, guilt, numbness, relief, or even emotions that feel difficult to explain. There is no “right” way to grieve, and our work honors your experience at your own pace.
We Explore What the Loss Means for You
Loss can affect more than how you feel—it can shift your relationships, routines, identity, and sense of what you imagined your life would look like. Together, we explore how the loss has impacted you while making room for the memories, relationships, and experiences that continue to hold meaning.
We Support You in Reconnecting with Life, Without Leaving your Grief Behind
Healing doesn’t require forgetting, “moving on,” or returning to who you were before the loss. We work toward helping you reconnect with yourself, your relationships, and the parts of life that matter to you while finding a way to carry your grief that feels less overwhelming.
